If you are struggling with managing time or your career, take a Life and Management course. You can learn valuable skills that will enable you to better manage your time. You can also use these skills for teaching other people how to better manage their time as well. These programs are offered at the college campuses or online. Here is a brief description of the four main areas of study covered in a Life and Management course.
The first lesson page explains what is life coaching, a process by which an individual who has attained a life goal establishes a relationship with an outside consultant. Coaching involves communication with people from different backgrounds to enhance awareness of personal life goals, enhancing confidence and motivation, developing leadership skills and improving interpersonal communication. As part of this introductory lesson, students must complete a prerequisite research project in which they describe their experiences that show how they managed to achieve their life goals. This research project is then presented in a lecture by a coach who will analyze the student’s research and suggest ways by which students can achieve similar goals in the future.
Students progress from a basic understanding of coaching through to advanced coaching skills, where they have completed a dissertation in their final session. The dissertation required at the end of the program is a project that integrates their knowledge about life and leadership with research and assessment. Students must then successfully complete a practical exam and earn their degree before they are awarded their certificate. Students take an additional five credits in the areas of human resources to fulfill their requirement for Certified Life Coach.
The second lesson focuses on assessing the student’s life and leadership skills. As part of this lesson, students analyze their ability to communicate effectively, set priorities, set goals, manage time, set a vision, set a mission, and set a team. They then participate in practicum workshops and develop their own practice. The third lesson is about decision-making in business and managing finances. Students are introduced to management concepts such as cost-effectiveness, profit and loss, financial risk, ownership, and ownership structure. They then participate in a seminar on coaching skills.
Life and leadership training focuses on six specific topics. These include communication skills, goal setting, coping skills, cognitive behavioural coaching, personality analysis, and project management. In the first year, students continue to learn the basics of coaching through role-play, demonstration, discussion, supervision, and coaching assessments. The topics in years two build upon the initial learning, participating in more role-play, role-playing exercises, demonstration, and discussion. The topics in years three to expand on the first year’s topics and involve thorough and complete implementation of the previously learnt concepts.
The last year, students work towards their master’s degree. Students take an additional five credits to complete their certificate, in the areas of human resources, coaching, and human resources administration. During the summer session, students work towards a dissertation in one of the areas covered in the Life and Management course. The study courses are designed by Thierry Henry, Girard-Rousso, Martine Rothrich-Fischer, Linda S. Vasile, and Robert S. Kaplan.
Life and management training is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Life and Health Care Nursing Education. Students can earn either a diploma or a degree. The diploma is usually issued after completion of the first year of study. In the case of students opting for a degree, a minimum of five credits are needed for graduation. Students may choose to earn either a Master of Business Administration or a Doctor of Nursing Practice. They can also choose to participate in an internship programme through the American Intercontinental University.
Life and health coaching certification is achieved by earning at least five credits in human resources and personality analysis. To be eligible for the programme, students need to have passed at least one year of relevant study. The curriculum consists of learning about the concepts behind marketing, performance management, finance and goals and personal development. The first year of study mainly focuses on the topics of job design, recruitment, interviewing techniques, hiring and promotion. Life and health coaching are taught through books, seminars and workshops.
